The audio of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s conversation with an unknown government officer has been leaked. BBC confirmed the audio, claiming that the former PM ordered action against student protesters before the coup last year.
On the phone call, Sheikh Hasina said, ‘I have ordered all of them to be arrested tonight. Everyone has been told, wherever you see them (protesters), catch them. I have now issued an open order. Now they will use deadly weapons. Wherever they look, they will shoot them. ‘
According to BBC, the audio was recorded on July 18, 2024 during a phone call made from Bangladeshi PM residence in Dhaka. There was a coup in Bangladesh on 5 August 2024. Hasina’s audio leaked in March this year.
BBC, citing police documents, said that after this call, military-grade rifles were used in Dhaka. About 1,400 people were killed during the protests in Bangladesh in July 2024. The former Prime Minister is also accused of crime against humanity during protests.

Hasina sentenced to 6 months in jail in the court’s contempt case However, Hasina is still in India. On July 2, ITC sentenced Hasina to six months in prison in the court’s contempt case. According to the Bangla newspaper The Daily Star, the Tribunal ruled the decision after investigating the phone conversation between Hasina and a local leader Shakeel Bulbul.
The conversation went viral on social media last year and many newspapers also published it. In this alleged audio clip, Sheikh Hasina was heard saying that she had 227 cases against her, so she has got a license to kill 227 people.
After Hasina left the PM post, many of his audio of phone conversations with the authorities have been leaked. However, the biggest evidence of the latest leaked audio tape against him is that he had ordered the shooting of the protesters directly to shoot.

Bangladesh appealed to India to send Hasina The Yunus government formed after the coup in Bangladesh has registered more than 225 cases of murder, kidnapping to treason. The Bangladesh government has also canceled Sheikh Hasina’s passport due to the killings in July.
Bangladesh has also appealed to India to deline Hasina. However, the Government of India has increased his visa, making it clear that he would not be sent to Bangladesh.
