After this incident, the police have detained two people, but the details in the case have not been revealed yet. Ghotki District Police Officer Anwar Sheikh has confirmed the daughter’s claim. However, no FIR has been registered in this case so far.

547 honor killing took place in Pakistan in 2024
According to the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO), an independent institution of Islamabad, more than 32 thousand sexual violence cases were reported across the country in 2024, including 547 honor killing cases.
Of these, 32 were in Balochistan, but were convicted in only one case. Pakistan’s major human rights organization HRCP general secretary Harris Khalik said that the honor killing shows dictatorship, which is still present in many parts of Pakistan.
He told Al Jazeera- The state has protected the chieftains and feudal leaders of the clan, instead of establishing the rule of law and ensuring the right to life of the citizens, who promote such practices to maintain control over their power and local resources.
