There is a tremendous movement in Pakistan’s politics these days. Discussions are in full swing that President Asif Ali Zardari may be asked to step down soon and in his place powerful army chief Field Marshal Marshal Munir may become the new President of the country.
Along with this, preparations are also being made to change the current parliamentary system in Pakistan and implement the President’s system. The game of change of power is happening with the support of the Pak Army.
The Pak Army Chief Field Marshal Munir holds the most powerful position in Pakistan’s power structure.
They are further strengthening their grip on power. Recently he has been promoted to the rare position of Field Marshal.
Along with this post, Aseem Munir gets protection from lifelong military privileges, legal immunity and unconstitutional interventions.

Munir is the second Army Chief after Ayub Khan in the history of Pakistan, who received this honor.
PM Shahbaz Sharif is protesting
Former PM Nawaz Sharif’s party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) has started protesting against the increasing equations between Army Chief Munir and Zardari.
The current Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his party PMLN are opposing this possible change.
They are afraid that if the President’s system comes, not only will Shahbaz will be discharged from the post of Prime Minister, but the relevance of PMLN and Sharif family will also end in the politics of Pakistan.
It is reported that PMLN is in touch with various factions of the Pakistani Army to prevent the rise of Bilawal.
Demand to make Bilawal PM intensified in PPP
The resignation of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Asif Ali Zardari is being discussed on the basis of his falling health.
According to reports, Zardari has placed a condition that if Bilawal Bhutto Zardari gets a big position where he can emerge as a mature leader, he can resign.
PPP has sought the post of PM for Bilawal Bhutto. However, there are differences about the role of Bilawal inside the PPP itself.

In the recent meeting of the PPP, many senior leaders of the party gave air to the discussion that if the parliamentary system persists, Bilawal Bhutto should become the Prime Minister of Pakistan. (File photo)
Constitution can amend Army Chief Munir
The intervention of Army Chief Munir is also being seen on the Pakistani Parliament, the judiciary and the foreign policy. His high-profile diplomatic visits in places like Washington, Riyadh and Beijing are proof that he is seen as Pakistan’s ‘stability messenger’.
Analysts believe that Aseem Munir does not just want to remain a symbolic position as President, but wants to change the entire political system of Pakistan.
The effort has come to light during the anniversary of the 1977 coup of General Zia-ul-Haq, which is seen as a ‘soft follicle’. It is being said that there is complete control of Aseem Munir over Parliament, judiciary and media and hence they will not have any special difficulty in changing the constitution and implementing the President’s system.
Earlier also 3 army chief became President
There have been 3 army chiefs in Pakistan who later became the President of the country. However, all three reached the presidency only after the coup. Till date, no Prime Minister has completed a 5 -year term in Pakistan.
