On April 22, 26 people were killed by terrorists in Baysaran Valley of Pahalgam.
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Sankasins Monitoring Team has held TRF responsible for the Pahalgam attack in its report. The report said that The Resist Front (TRF) took the responsibility of the Pahalgam attack of Jammu and Kashmir twice. TRF also published a picture of the scene on the same day after the attack.
According to the report, TRF took responsibility again the next day, but suddenly withdrawn its claim on 26 April. After this, TRF did not make any other statement and no other organization took responsibility for the attack. This 36th report of the United Nations is based on terrorist organizations ISIL, Al-Qaeda and their groups. According to the report,
A member country said that the attack was not possible without the help of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and there are relations between TRF and LeT. Whereas another member country described the letter as inactive and dismissed these claims.
The report also said that the situation in Pahalgam region is very sensitive and terrorist organizations can try to take advantage of this tension again.
On April 22, terrorists opened fire on tourists in Baysaran Valley of Pahalgam. During this period 26 people, including 1 Nepali citizen, were killed.
In a statement released on 25 April, TRF’s name was removed under pressure from Pakistan
The United Nations Security Council issued a press statement on 25 April condemning the terrorist attack, but the name of TRF was not included in it. After this, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had told that we had tried to remove TRF’s name and successfully removed it.
America has declared TRF a terrorist organization
Earlier on July 18, the US had put Pakistan -backed The Registration Front (TRF) in the list of foreign terrorist organization (FTO) and specially designated Global Terrorist (SDGT). US Secretary of State Marco Rubio gave this information.
Marco Rubio wrote in the statement, ‘A mask of Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let) and Proxy, TRF took responsibility for the attack in Pahalgam, India on 22 April 2025, in which 26 civilians were killed. This was Lashkar’s most deadly attack on citizens in India after the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
‘TRF has also taken responsibility for several attacks on Indian security forces, including 2024 attacks. This decision of the US government is an attempt to bring justice for the Pahalgam attack on behalf of President Trump. This step shows that the Trump government is serious about the security of the country and stands firmly against terrorism.

Jaishankar said- zero tolerance for terrorism
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar wrote on X after the US ban on TRF, the Indo-US has strongly confirmed anti-terrorism cooperation. Thanks to External Affairs Minister Marco Rubio that he declared TRF (a proxy organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba) as Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and specially designated Global Terrorist (SDGT). TRF took responsibility for the Pahalgam attack on 22 April. Zero tolerance for terrorism.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a statement after action against TRF. It states that TRF Pahalgam, 2008 is responsible for many attacks including Mumbai attack.
4 days after taking responsibility for TRF Pahalgam attack
On 22 April, there was a terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. In this, the terrorists killed 26 tourists. Shortly after the attack, TRF took responsibility for the incident and issued a statement saying that the Government of India is making Muslims in majority to minorities in Kashmir.
However, on 26 April, TRF turned back to it. Organization spokesperson Ahmed Khalid had said that it is wrong to hold TRF responsible for the Pahalgam attack. Khalid said that his website was hacked.
TRF came into existence after Article-370 was removed in 2019 ‘The Registration Front’ (TRF) is a new name among the terrorist organizations of Jammu and Kashmir. It came into existence after the removal of Article-370 from Jammu and Kashmir in 2019. The Government of India also believes that it is a proxy terrorist organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Apart from the killing of soldiers and common citizens, these terrorist organizations have been involved in smuggling drugs and weapons from across the border. Security affairs experts say that ISI handlers from across the border raised the TRF with the help of Lashkar-e-Taiba.
