A shocking case of cybercrime has come to light in Jalandhar. Hackers hacked the website of the city’s famous Max World Immigration Travel Agency and booked air tickets worth about Rs 10 lakh for Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
,
Agency owner Deepak Batt said that he had complained to the police station number 6 on 22 May 2025, but the police did not take the case seriously for two months and now the case has been registered.
The involvement of terrorist organizations or gangster gang is being feared behind the incident. Now the police is investigating the case deeply with the cyber angle.
Deepak came to office in the morning and saw the system disturbed
According to Deepak Batt, when he reached the office in the morning as usual and login the system, he saw unusual activities on the website. On investigation, it was found that from 9 am to morning, tickets worth about Rs 10 lakh were booked from his company’s portal, most of which were for Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
These tickets were booked through the ‘Max World Travel Birth’ portal, providing immigration and travel services.
Terrorist angle may be apprehensive
Deepak Batt has also feared that there may be a gang involved in terrorist organizations or international human trafficking behind this hacking. Such ticket booking is possible that it has been done for people who are sent abroad in an illegal way.
Deepak says that if action was taken in time, perhaps the passengers could have been stopped before climbing on the flight. But due to the slow response of the police, the accused have not yet been caught.
Doubt on the role of the inner person
The police investigation is also expecting that this work has been done with the connivance of an internal person. The password of the portal was only with the company owner and a few select employees. In such a situation, it is feared that an internal person provided passwords to hackers, or they infiltrated the system through a software.
At present, the police have registered a case against unknown persons and intensified the investigation. Each angle is being investigated. Police officials say they will soon try to reach the culprits by tracing data.
