For the first time after Operation Sindoor, the Foreign Minister of India and Pakistan came face to face in Tianjin, China on 15 July. India Foreign Minister S.K. Jaishankar condemned the Pahalgam attack.
Jaishankar said that the attack was carried out to damage the tourism economy of Jammu and Kashmir and create religious partitions. He demanded SCO to take a tough stand against terrorism.
He said- SCO is made to deal with three evils, they are terrorism, separatism and extremism. He also referred to the statement of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), which was said to punish those responsible in the attack.

SCO should not compromise on terrorism
Jaishankar said- It is necessary that SCO should not compromise on terrorism. Apart from the India-Pakistan dispute, Jaishankar also raised the issue of Afghanistan and urged SCO members to increase development aid, for which India also committed.
Jaishankar said- India has taken several initiatives in many fields, from startups and innovation to traditional medical and digital public infrastructure in SCO.
Earlier, Jaishankar met Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday. He also attended bilateral talks with senior Chinese officials in Beijing. This journey of Jaishankar is the first Chinese visit of an Indian Foreign Minister in the last five years.

Pakistani Foreign Minister- India accused without investigation
On the other hand, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar criticized India for accusing Pakistan without concrete investigation for the Pahalgam attack.
He said that this had created a serious struggle in the region. Dar reiterated the ceasefire’s commitment, but arbitrarily warned against the use of military force.
Dar said that interaction and diplomacy is necessary for regional stability. He also expressed concern over India’s decision to postpone the Indus Water Treaty.

Discussion on trade and tourism with Chinese Foreign Minister
During the meeting in Beijing, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar also raised important issues from his Chinese counterpart Wang Ji on trade and tourism. He expressed concern over export control and business restrictions imposed by China. Jaishankar clearly said that China should avoid steps that can damage India’s manufacturing sector.
Along with this, he insisted on increasing the contact between the people of India and China. He explained the need to make the journey easier, resume direct flights and promote cultural exchange. They believe that this will increase mutual understanding and trust between the two countries.

Jaishankar said- India-China relations are improving
There was a bilateral meeting between Jaishankar and Wang Yi on Monday. Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Chinese Vice President Han Zheng in Beijing on Monday. In this meeting, Jaishankar said-

India and China’s relations are continuously getting better since the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping in Kazan in October 2023. 75 -year diplomatic relations between the two countries have been completed.
Jaishankar described the current international situation as complex and said that open talks between big neighboring countries like India and China are very important. He told the Chinese Vice President that the resumption of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has been highly appreciated in India.
