An Indian woman in Illinois, USA has been accused of stealing more than 1 lakh goods from the supermarket target store. According to the police, the woman spent seven hours in the store and tried to get out with the goods without paying.
The incident took place on May 1, 2025. Now a video of it is going viral on social media. Where the woman’s name is being described as Anaya Avlani.
Store employees found his behavior suspect, after which he called the police. In the video, the store employee said, “We saw this woman walking around in the store for seven hours. She was picking up the goods, checking the phone and then tried to go out of the store without paying.”
The Indian woman was accused of stealing more than 1 lakh goods.
The woman offered to pay the goods to resolve the matter and said- I am not from this country, I will give all the goods. To this, the police replied, “Is it allowed to steal in India? I don’t think.” The police took him to the police station with handcuffs.
However, he has not been arrested yet, but is likely to be accused of serious crime. People on social media criticized the woman on the incident. One user wrote- I do not understand how one can dare to break the law of this country by becoming a guest.
Another user said- there was no cultural or linguistic problem here. She knew what she was doing. The third user wrote- Do not discredit India on the global stage.
