Ilon Musk’s company will have to pay a compensation of about Rs 2,100 crore in Tesla’s auto drive car. The Miami Court of Florida has given this order, holding the company responsible in the 4 -year -old incident.
The case is of 2021, when the accident occurred in Florida with a train with Autopylot system of Tesla. The driver was busy on the phone by putting the car in autopylyt mode. The car hit a couple due to a system malfunction.
The girl dies in this accident and her boyfriend is injured. In the case, the company had said that the driver was busy running the phone. However, the court admitted that Tesla’s system was poor and the responsibility of the accident was not just the driver.
What happened in Tesla Autopylot Crash Case
- In 2021 itself, the family of the victims filed a case against Tesla. The family alleged that the company hid a malfunction in the autopylot system and also abolished the data and video footage before and after the accident.
- The case lasted from 2021 to 2025, for four years. During this time Tesla continued to settle most of such accident cases or dismissed in court, but the matter reached the trial.
- Tesla tried to hold the driver responsible in front of the jury in Miami’s Federal Court. However, the victims’ lawyers remained adamant on the malfunction of the autopylot system. Finally, Tesla considers a car malfunction, but rejects the allegations of hiding the evidence.
Tesla considered court decision wrong
However, the decision of the court was considered wrong by the company and said that automotive is harmful for safety and technology.
How does Tesla’s Autopylot feature work?
- Autopylal means running the car without the help of the driver. Autopylot technology works based on many different inputs. For example, it is connected to direct satellite for location and map. Where to go to the passenger, it is selected in the map. This is followed by selection of root.
- When the car runs on autopylyt mode, it also gets input from the camera around the car along with the satellite. That is, there is no object in front of or in front of or back, right or left. When an object is, the car is left-right or stops.
- The car also consists of many sensors, which help to keep the car in a road-lane and read the signal. In autopylyt mode, the car speeds up to 100 km per hour. However, in this technique, many times the sensors stop working, which causes an accident.
