The history of the border dispute between Thailand and Cambodia is 118 years old, which is about the Preh Vihar temple and the surrounding areas.
When Cambodia was under France, in 1907, a long border of 817 km was drawn between the two countries. Thailand always opposed it, as the map was shown in the part of Cambodia, a historic temple named Preh Vihier.
There was a dispute between the two countries on this. In 1959, Cambodia took the case to the International Court of Court and in 1962 the court ruled that the temple belonged to Cambodia. Thailand accepted it but continued the dispute over the surrounding land.

After the temple was recognized, clashes started again in the armies of the two countries and in 2011 the situation deteriorated so much that thousands of people were forced to leave their homes.
In 2011, the International Court of International Court ordered the two countries to remove military from the disputed region, and again confirmed that the temple and its surrounding area was from Cambodia. But the issue of boundary has not been completely resolved yet.
Despite this dispute, Thailand and Cambodia were considered among the best neighboring countries in the world. Till a few years ago, the leaders of the two countries believed that their friendship would never break, as they share a long limit and it is necessary for them to move forward.
But in recent times, the situation has changed and the tension between them has increased considerably. After this, Thailand threatened to stop Cambodia’s power and internet service, while Cambodia banned Thai TV and films and banned the import of Thai products. Thailand also stopped his laborers going to Cambodia from crossing the border.
