In the Ahmedabad accident, another case of technical fault in Air India’s Boeing aircraft has come up in the US. A Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft of Locam Airlines going to Santiago had to make an emergency landing at Los Angeles Airport after a technical problem.
Earlier, the aircraft circled over the Pacific Ocean for about an hour. The aircraft’s RAM air turbine (RAT) system became active during landing. Its video has surfaced on social media.
The RAT system being active means that there has been a big disturbance in the normal power supply of the aircraft. This is active when the engine fails or the electrical system malfunctions. Stopping fuel supply can also be the reason. However, it is not clear whether the fuel supply to the engine stopped or not.
