The Meteorological Agency of Japan said on Wednesday that an 8 -magnitude earthquake occurred near the Russian’s Kamchatka Peninsula. Because of this, a tsunami warning of up to 1 meter has been issued on the Pacific coast of Japan.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said immediately after the initial reports that the intensity of the earthquake was 8.7. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 19.3 km. Russia did not get any immediate information about the impact on the work.
At the same time, the Japanese agency reported that the earthquake occurred at 8:25 am. No loss is reported yet. According to NHK Television, Japan, the earthquake was about 250 km from Hokkaido, the most northern island of Japan’s four major islands and was only felt light.
