Trump said that India is a member of BRICS, so he will not give him an exemption from tariff. The BRICS group is formed to weaken the dollar.
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday threatened to impose 10% extra tariffs on BRICS countries from 1 August. Trump alleged BRICS Group is trying to weaken the US dollar.
He said- BRICS was designed to harm us and weaken our dollar. Those who are in BRICS will have to pay 10% tariff. The US dollar will remain in power and the person challenging it will have to pay a huge price.
Trump said- Dollar is king, we will keep it like this. I am just saying that if people want to challenge it, they can do it, but they will have to pay a big price. I don’t think any of them is ready to pay the price.
When asked about India, Trump said that due to being a BRICS member, India will also have to pay 10% tariffs, no relaxation will be given to anyone. BRICS has criticized this and described it against the WTO rules.

There may be a trade agreement with India
Trump also talked about a trade agreement with India. This agreement can be made during this month or during Trump’s visit to India. Under this agreement, the two countries want to bring mutual trade to $ 500 billion by 2030.
This will not include sectors like farming and dairy. The US wants less tariffs on its agricultural products, medical equipment and industrial products, while India wants better opportunities for textile exports.

Trump said- There was no inflation in my first term
Trump took a dig at the previous governments and said that the US suffered a loss. Trump said, “Hundreds of billion dollars of tariffs gathered in my first term.” There was no inflation then, it was the most successful economic time in the country.
I think this time will be better. We have not even started yet and tariffs of more than $ 100 billion have gathered. Some countries want fair trade, some have deteriorated. He has taken advantage of America for years.
If America had a fool as a foolish president last time, then your standard would have fallen, there would not be dollar here. This will be like losing a world war. I cannot let this happen. ‘
No 100% on deadline fix of 1 August
Trump wrote on social media platform Truth Social, ‘Tariffs will apply from 1 August 2025. There will be no change or discount in it. Trump said that the purpose of the tariff is to bring fairness, but if a country wants to make a fair agreement, then talks can happen.
When asked if the deadline of August 1 is fixed, Trump said, ‘I would say it is confirmed, but not 100%. If a country calls and says that they want to work in different ways, then we will consider it.
