Trump once again said on Wednesday that America is very close to the deal with India.
US President Donald Trump has made a big claim about the trade deal. Trump has said that American products are going to get access to India markets soon. He has claimed that the Indonesia formula deal will also be with India. American products will also have zero tariffs in India.
Trump imposed 19% tariff on Indonesia on Tuesday. From August 1, 19% tariffs will have to be paid on goods going from Indonesia to America. At the same time, there will be no tariff in Indonesia on American goods.
Trump said- We have entered into agreements with many best countries. We are going to have another agreement, perhaps with India. I don’t know, we are talking. When I send the letter, that agreement will be reached.
Trump said on Tuesday that the US has signed a trade agreement with Indonesia, in which 32 percent of tariffs have been reduced to 19 percent. He said that a similar agreement could be done with India and some other countries.
Trump’s statement came at a time when the US has decided that the duty on most imports will be increased from August 1. This means that America will impose more tax on their goods that do not compromise with America quickly.
On April 2, Trump imposed tariffs on more than 100 countries. Then he imposed 26% tariff on India. However, he later postponed it for 90 days.
India wants less than 10% tariff: report The trade deal with the US has some problems that a team of the Indian Ministry of Commerce has reached America to solve it. The conversation started from Monday and is expected to run till Thursday.
According to Bloomberg, Indian officials involved in the conversation want the tariff rate for India to be less than 10% in the agreement. In return, the US wants some concessions in India for its products, but India has made it clear that it will not open its agriculture and dairy sector for foreign companies. However, India is ready to compromise in non-agricultural sectors.
India has also offered that if the US reduces tax, India will completely eliminate the tax on American industrial goods. Apart from this, India has talked about giving a better market to the US for its agricultural products and has also expressed the possibility of buying more aircraft from Boeing Company.

One important thing about this entire issue is that if India does not reach this agreement with the US by August 1, then the US government can impose 16 percent additional tax on Indian goods. This tax will be in addition to 10 percent baseline tariffs already implemented.
That is, selling goods in the US market can be expensive and difficult for Indian companies. Therefore, this conversation between the two countries is considered very important.
However, India has made it clear that it will not approve any agreement just due to the time limit. India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal had earlier said that India will sign an agreement only when it is fully prepared, in India’s interest and is properly tested.
