Mahanta accused of violating the principles of Buddhism
Mahant’s activities are considered to be an open violation of the principles of Buddhism. Officials investigating the case have said that whatever information will be revealed, it will be shared with the public from time to time.
The Shaolin Temple is located in the hills of Henan province of Central China. This 1500 -year -old temple is famous not only for religious reasons but for its martial arts tradition, especially for Kung Fu. Every year millions of people from all over the country and abroad come to see this temple of Buddhism.
Yonguxin makes Shaolin famous worldwide
Xi Yonguxin is the scientist of the Shaolin Temple since 1999. He turned this temple into a modern business model in a way, due to which he came to be called ‘CEO Monk’. Under his leadership, the temple opened schools abroad and formed a group of Monk (monks) which performs Shaolin Kung Fu Show worldwide.
However, this is not the first time Yongxin has come into controversies. First in 2006, a local government gifted him a Volkswagen SUV of about 1 million yuan (about $ 125,000).
It was then believed that Xi had helped in promoting local tourism, making the government gift to him. However, Yonguxin then described it as a gift and said that he did not take any personal benefit.

Accusations of having illegitimate relations with women earlier also
After this, in 2015, one of his former disciples claimed that Xi Yongxin had an illegitimate relationship with many women and has children. On this, he had said that these allegations are false and baseless. Later, these allegations were dismissed after no evidence was found.
He was then accused of misusing the project and property related to the temple and taking personal benefits from them. He was accused that he made financial disturbances by issuing fake receipts and hiding his identity. However, no evidence was found.
Yonguxin once wore a thread made of gold thread, which he was criticized. In some reports, its price was stated to be $ 25000.
In Buddhism, monks are expected to stay away from simplicity and worldly pleasures. Critics said that a monk, who should live a sage life, when wears so furious, expensive clothes, he tarnishes the dignity of religion and the tradition of the temple.
In an interview to BBC Chinese, when he was asked why he had such serious allegations, he said, “If something happened, it would have been revealed by now.”

Accusation- Shaolin used to earn money
Yonguxin is also accused that he started running the Shaolin temple like a religious place instead of a religious place. They started doing live shows of the monk Kun Fu worldwide worldwide. Shaolin’s name was used in many Hollywood films, TV shows and video games. It was considered a means of publicity and earning money.
In 2015, the Shaolin Temple came into another dispute when it planned to build a huge temple complex at a cost of about $ 30 million. He bought 1200 hectares of land for the project.
The project included a hotel, kung fu school and a golf course. It was said that this would help in spreading the Shaolin tradition worldwide. However, it was criticized a lot. After this Yonguxin said that the campus will be used only in meditation, kung fu and farming.
