Amritsar police has busted the international arms smuggling gang. Amritsar Rural Police today arrested four accused of Tarn Taran. Two lock pistols, two star pistols and 10 live cartridges have been recovered from the accused.

The team of Rajasansi DSP Indrajit Singh led by Maninder Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police of Amritsar Rural, took this action. The arrested accused include Swaraj, Arshdeep Singh, Gulab Singh and Gaurav. The four accused are residents of Taran Taran and are active in smuggling. Three mobile phones and an Activa scooter have also been seized from them.

Target from France DSP Indrajit Singh said that the accused used to have direct contact with the weapons of Pakistan and France through WhatsApp. These people were smuggling on the instructions of ‘Gopi’, a resident of Dera Baba Nanak living in France. The consignment of weapons was being sent to India by drone from Pakistan, after which the accused used to supply it further.

A case is being registered against the accused in various sections of the Arms Act against the accused at Lopoke Police Station. Police is investigating other relations of the accused. Action will be taken against those who involve involition in the investigation.
