Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has announced to quit politics. She said in an interview in ‘The Late Show with Stephen Collbert’ that she will no longer contest for any political post, including the post of Governor of California.
Harris said- America’s political system is “broken” and I am not strong to protect democratic values.
Harris, who was a Governor of California, said that he has served the public throughout his career. He said- I thought a lot about becoming a governor. I love my state California, but now I think my ability to change the system has decreased.

Referred to experiences in your new book 107 days
The TV host told Harris that it is worrying to say such a capable person like you that the system is broken. Harris also told that she now wants to roam around the country and talk to people, but not to ask for votes, but to listen to them.
His new book ‘107 Days’ is scheduled to release on 23 September. In which he has mentioned his 107 -day presidential election campaign experiences. Harris was asked what was the most surprising in those 107 days, Harris said, I used to pray every night that I had done everything with all my ability today.
Kamala Harris lost against Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. At the Presidential Election Electoral College, Trump won with 312 votes, while Harris got 226 votes.
Entry in politics with advocacy became presidential candidate in 7 years
Kamala started her political career in 1990 as District Attorney. She reached the State Attorney from District Attorney and then Senate (US Rajya Sabha).
Kamala started getting involved in controversies over her approach only a year after the district attorney became. These controversies increased Kamla’s popularity. In 2004, a police member of a criminal gang shot and killed a policeman Isak Aspinoch.
People demanded that the killer be sentenced to death. However, Kamla did not demand a death sentence as a government lawyer. He was opposed not only by the policemen but also the Senator of California.
Kamala worked to reduce the death sentence as an attorney. He believes that more focus should be done on stopping crime than punishing the judicial system. He also reduced great punishment in small crimes.

Kamala started the back on track program. Under which people committing small crimes were provided school education and job training, so that they could leave crime and live ordinary lives.
Kamala also focused on punishing the parents who were not sending their children to school for education. This crime is called Truensy.
This had the most impact on black penetance. Due to this, Kamala was criticized a lot. However, those running the campaign for Kamla say that this led to a 33% decline in Truecancies cases.
