The Punjabi film ‘Chal Mera Putta 4’ has not been approved for release in India, which disappointed Amarinder Gill’s fans. The film was released worldwide today, but could not be done in India.

The censor board did not give it a certificate due to the presence of some Pakistani actors in the film. The release date of the film was set 1 August, but it could not be allowed in India till the last moment.
The film’s team posted on social media and wrote-
It is being released worldwide, but not in India. We made every effort … but some things are out of our control. Thank you for supporting us. Your love matters a lot to us.
Earlier, Diljit Dosanjh’s film ‘Sardar Ji 3’ was also not allowed to release in India due to Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. The first part of both these films has been super hit.

Anti -India statements given after Pahalgam attack
The first part ‘Chal Mera Putta’ has been appreciated for the emotional and comical presentation of migrant life. It starred Pakistani comedians like Iftikhar Thakur, Akram Uddas and Nasir Chinyoti. Iftikhar Thakur made anti-India statements on the dispute between the Pahalgam attack and then India-Pakistan.
During the Indo-Pak tension in May 2025, he said- If you come from the wind, the bombs will fall, if you come from the sea, you will be immersed, and if you come from the ground, you will be buried. This statement hurt the national spirit.
Wrong rhetoric on Punjabi films also
After this, Iftikhar Thakur made wrong statements about Punjabi films. In a statement, he said- I had about 16 films signed in Punjab, India. We were told that we would do your boys. To this I replied that you do not have to do boys, we do bye.
300 to 350 crore rupees investment on our artists
Iftikhar further said- 9 films were made without Pakistani artists, but not a single one. Many major works including dialogues of films made in Punjab are done by Pakistani artists. The films that are done by Pakistani artists have been hits every time. The Punjabi industry has an investment of 300 to 350 crore rupees on our artists.
Thakur was first opposed by comedian Dhillon
Punjabi actor and comedian Binnu Dhillon responded to Iftikhar Thakur’s statement. Binnu had said that he would not work with Pakistani artists. Iftikhar Thakur will no longer be allowed to come to Punjab. He had said that what is opposed to our country, should not even get a chance to show artistry here.
The project pipelines that are running with Pakistani artists will also not come to theaters nor these artists will be allowed to come to Punjab.

Punjab CM also jumped into dispute
