US President Donald Trump had given a deadline to the countries around the world to do a trade deal, which is ending today i.e. on August 1. Today they will also impose tariffs on the rest of the world.
Earlier, Trump had announced a tariff on countries around the world on 2 April, but postponed it for 90 days only 7 days later. A few days later, Trump gave time till 31 July.
After this, the Trump government targeted for 90 deals in 90 days. However, till now only 7 countries have been compromised. The US has so far imposed tariffs on 14 countries.

India, 25% tariff and additional fine
Trump announced a 25% tariff on India on 31 July. This tariff will be applicable from today. So far, America is imposing 10% baseline tariffs on India.
The US has said that it will also impose a fine on India due to buying weapons and oil from Russia. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India said that it would take all the necessary steps to protect the national interests in view of the impacts of this announcement.
This tariff can affect areas such as steel, aluminum, automobile, textile, electronics and jewelery.

China: 30% tariff and 90 days relief
There were situations between the US and China in the last few months. The US imposed 145% tariff on China while China had imposed 125% tariff on the US. However, in May, both of them fixed tariff rates by mutual consent.
The US imposed 30% on China, while China announced a 10% tariff on the US. These tariff rates are till August 12. Negotiations are going on regarding how much tariffs the two countries will impose on each other.
Britain: 10% tariff, 25% tariff on steel-aluminum
Trump signed an agreement with Britain on 8 May. In which tariffs were reduced on British auto, steel and aluminum.
In general, 10% tariff will be applicable. Britain was exempted from 50% steel and aluminum tariffs, now 25% tariffs will be faced.
Britain promised to reduce tariffs on American olive oil, wine and sports equipment.
Japan: 15% tariff and promise to open market
Trump announced the deal with Japan on 22 July. In which 15% tariffs will be levied on Japanese goods. Earlier, Japan used to have 25% tariff.
Japan promised to invest $ 550 billion in the US and open its market for American cars and rice.
The tariff is relief for Japanese car manufacturers such as Toyota and Honda, which were facing 25% tariffs before.

European Union: 15% tariff, but 30% of goods
The initial trade agreement has been reached between the US and the European Union (EU) on 27 July. Under the US agreement, a base tariff of 15% will be imposed on most of the goods coming from EU. It includes cars, medicines and electronic goods.
Trump announced the agreement in a meeting with EU chairman Ursula von Der Leyen in Scotland. According to this, EU will buy energy worth $ 750 billion, or about 64 lakh crore rupees from the US in the next three years.
Along with this, EU will invest $ 600 billion in America i.e. 51 lakh crore rupees. These investment will be in the US pharma, auto and defense sector. Apart from this, 30% of goods are yet to be negotiated between the US and the European Union.
The European Union is the third largest economy in the world. It consists of 27 countries in Europe. The US, European Union has a trade of about $ 3.5 billion every day.
Trade deal with South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines
The US has also traded with South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines.
On July 30, Trump reduced the tariff of 25% on South Korean goods to 15%. Instead, South Korea will buy $ 100 billion energy from the US and will invest $ 350 billion.
At the same time, Trump imposed 19% tariff on Indonesia on 15 July. While more than 99% of American goods will go without tariffs in Indonesia. Trump has imposed 19% tariff on the Philippines and 20% tariff on Vietnam.
