External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that the hideouts that were attacked on 7 May were the terrorist headquarters and infrastructure.
Indian Foreign Minister S.K. Jaishankar on Monday made a statement on the terrorist attack and Operation Sindoor in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir in the Lok Sabha on Monday. He said that we highlighted the terrorist history of Pakistan in the world.
We gave two messages, first- zero tolerance against terror and second- the right to protect citizens with terror. Our red line was crossed. We took very strict steps.
Responding to the opposition’s questions, Jaishankar made it clear that America had no arbitration in the Indo-Pakistan ceasefire. He said that on May 9, US Vice President JD Vance called Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which Modi clearly said that if the attack took place, India will answer.
On May 10, Pakistan expressed his desire for a ceasefire, for which India said that Pakistan would have to make this request at DGMO level. Jaishankar insisted that there was no talk between PM Modi and Donald Trump during this period.
On May 10, US President Trump gave information about ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
India took many big steps against Pakistan
Jaishankar said that India took several major steps against Pakistan on the very next day of the Pahalgam attack, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty, canceling visa for Pakistani citizens, declaring Pakistan diplomats as unwanted person and closing the attic border.
On questioning the Pahalgam attack on behalf of the opposition and the response of India, Jaishankar said- Who among you thought that terrorist hideouts like Bahawalpur and Murid of Murid would be destroyed like this? Even in your tenure, this thought did not come. You considered it impossible even after 26 years. “
Jaishankar said- Quad condemned the Pahalgam attack
Jaishankar said that Quad strongly condemned terrorism and in his statement mentioned the Pahalgam attack. BRICS, including countries like China, Iran and Russia, also condemned the attack.
The German Foreign Minister said that India has every right to protect itself from terrorism and will support us. France and the European Union have said the same.
Jaishankar said that there was no talks between Trump and Prime Minister Modi from 22 April to 17 June. Trade did not talk during a discussion with America at any stage.
Visa ban will continue in India for Pakistanis
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said in the Lok Sabha- Operation Sindoor was successful in its objectives. Indian citizens were safely rescued under difficult conditions and this mission reflects India’s abilities and commitment.
Jaishankar further informed that India’s reply on terrorism crossing border from Pakistani land will not be limited to operation vermilion. Visa restrictions will continue in India for Pakistani citizens.
The focus of Indian diplomacy was on UNSC
Jaishankar said that the focus of India’s diplomacy was on UNSC. He said- Pakistan is currently a member of UNSC, but not us. Our target was that UNSC should accept those responsible for this attack and accept terrorism as a serious threat. “
On 25 April, UNSC issued a statement strongly condemned the Pahalgam attack and emphasized the need to punish the terrorists and their sponsors.
