On Thursday, 63 people were killed and 290 injured in heavy rains and floods in many districts of Pakistani Punjab. In view of the situation, emergency has been imposed in many areas.
Punjab’s Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said that 15 people have died in Lahore, 9 in Faisalabad, 5 in Sahiwal, 3 in Pakpattan and 9 in Okara. The government has announced compensation to the families of the deceased.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday issued warnings of strong winds and thunderstorms across the country till July 17.

A rescue operation is going on to evacuate people trapped in floods in Jhelum. According to the local official, so far 57 people have been safely evacuated, and more than 50 boats are engaged in this rescue work. While over 15,000 rescue personnel and 800 boats are on high alert.

Warning of heavy rain in the capital Islamabad
In Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, the administration has been instructed to stay on high alert. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has ordered the authorities to provide all possible help to the people in emergency situation.

According to Radio Pakistan, heavy rains are expected in districts like Lahore, Chakwal, Attach, Jhelum, Khushab, Sargodha, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot.
Cloudburst in Chakwal floods in the city
Punjab’s Chakwal district recorded 400 mm of rain in 10 hours due to cloudburst on Tuesday night, causing a sudden flood in the city.
At the same time, one child was killed and 11 people were injured due to heavy rains in Mandi Bahauddin. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Mandi Bahauddin recorded 167 mm of rain in the last 24 hours till 8 am on Wednesday.
Rescue officials said that a 10 -year -old child died due to drowning while bathing in rain water. In another incident, 8 years old and 6 -year -old children were injured when current during the rains.
