The inclination of the Chief General Walker-e-Zaman of the Bangladeshi Army is now being seen towards the radical Islamic parties. These include parties like Jamaat-e-Islami, Islamic movement Bangladesh, Khilafat Majlis, Muttahide Majlis-e-Mal, and Tanjimul Ulema.
All of them together are emerging as a radical alliance and unitedly demanding a proportional representation system (vote -based seat sharing). He has warned that if this demand is not accepted, they will adopt the path of election boycott.
The main opposition party Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is struggling with internal challenges. The party has not been able to decide the candidates so far and due to many contenders in every seat, the contradictions are deepening. In such a situation, the party is considering the possible return of the leader Tariq Rahman as the final hope of upliftment from the party crisis.

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s party Awami League is almost missing from the electoral fray. At the same time, the National Citizen Party (NCP) of the rapid emerging students is campaigning tremendously.
Differences in BNP only over the proposed election system
The National Communication Commission and the Constitution Reforms Commission under the leadership of the Chief Advisor have recommended the Parliament of two House. 400 seats in the lower house and elections will be held by the first past the post system as before.
There will be 100 seats in the upper house, which will be decided on the basis of vote percentage received by the parties in the elections of the lower house. The radical alliance agrees on this, but BNP disagrees on issues on these 3 issues.
1. Differences on election system
Radical: Demanding a proposern representation system, in which the percentage of votes as a party gets in the lower house elections, it gets the same percentage seats in the upper house.
BNP: This system opposes. The party wants the allocation of seats in the upper house to be on the lines of women reserved seats, that is, the party should be in proportion to the victory in the lower house, not on the basis of vote percentage.
2. politics of strategic pressure
Radical: In order to implement a proposious representation system, they are unitedly threatening election boycott to put pressure on BNP.
BNP: The politics of pressure is not acceptable, it is blackmailing.
3. Conflict on election timing
Radical: Not ready for the election until February 2026. They want to make the election process counseling based.
BNP: BNP has given the in -principle consent to hold elections in February 2026, they remain pressure.
BNP leader Tariq can return to Bangladesh
It is a matter of relief for BNP that party’s acting chairman Tariq Rahman can return to Bangladesh in July or August. This will end the party’s political uncertainty.
BNP is preparing to make their return historic. A new house is also being decorated near BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s Feroza Bungalow in Gulshan. It is believed that Tariq can live in it with his family.

Tariq is considered to be the mastermind of the India Out Campaign run against India in 2023.
Hasina will start hearing from August 3 in anti -humanity crimes
Former PM Sheikh Hasina is being prone to crime against humanity. He has also been accused of former Home Minister Asaduzman Khan and police chief Abdullah al Mamoon.
All of them are accused of murder and atrocities to suppress the student movement in 2024. Mamoon has confessed the allegations. The hearing of this case will start from 3 August 2025. Please tell that Hasina left the country last year (on 5 August 2024).
