Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday thanked Brazilian President Lula de Silva for supporting India against the Pahalgam terror attack.

President Silva honored PM Modi with the highest civilian honor ‘Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross’ for strengthening India-Brazil relations.
This is the 26th international honor given by a foreign government to PM Modi since assuming the post of Prime Minister in May 2014.
Brazilian President Lula de Silva gave the award to PM Modi to pursue India-Brazil relations.
Both countries signed three agreements
The two countries signed three agreements, including cooperation against terrorism and organized crime, partnership over digital techniques and renewable energy.
Apart from this, three more agreements will be signed soon, including agriculture research, secret information share and intellectual property.
PM Modi sought support from Brazil to carry forward the Indo-Markosur trade agreement. He invited President Lula to come to India, which he accepted.
PM Modi is on a tour of 5 countries since July 2, so far he has visited Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina and Brazil. Now he will leave for Namibia tour.
Foreign ministers of India and Brazil shared the file of the agreement (MOU).
Target of mutual trade of $ 20 billion in 5 years
PM Modi said that it is a matter of pride for 140 crore Indians to get Brazil’s highest honor. He said that both countries have set a target to carry bilateral trade up to $ 20 billion (Rs 1.70 lakh crore) in the next five years.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Brazilian capital Brazilian from Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday morning (Indian time) after attending the BRICS Summit. Here he was welcomed by Shiva Tandava Stotra and Indian classical dance.
